The College offers the following academic programmes:
i) Basic Certificate of Religious Knowledge: This programme is designed to equip lay Christians in the knowledge of the Bible. Students must complete the credit requirement for the courses. This programme must be completed within 10 years.
Total Credits Required: 20 credits.
Admission Requirement: 5 G.C.E. ‘O’-level passes or its equivalent.
ii) Higher Certificate of Religious Knowledge: This is an extension programme designed to equip lay Christians in the knowledge of the Bible. Students must complete the credit requirement for the courses. This programme must be completed within 20 years.
Total Credits Required: 40 credits.
Admission Requirement: 5 G.C.E. ‘O’-level passes or its equivalent.
iii) Diploma in Theology: This programme is designed to prepare those who have completed their ‘O’-level education to pursue a course in theological education. This is a 3-year full-time residential programme.
Total Credits Required: 90 credits.
Admission Requirement: 5 G.C.E. ‘O’-level passes or its equivalent.
iv) Bachelor of Theology: This programme is designed to equip and prepare students for the full-time ministry. This is a 3-year full-time residential programme.
Total Credits Required: 96 credits.
Admission Requirement: 2 G.C.E. ‘A’-level passes or a basic diploma from a recognized tertiary institution; or its equivalent.
v) Master of Biblical Counselling: This programme is designed to equip and prepare graduate students for the counselling ministry. This is a 2-year residential programme.
Total Credits Required: 64 credits
Admission Requirement: A basic degree from a recognized tertiary institution; or its equivalent.
vi) Master of Biblical Studies: This programme is designed to equip and prepare graduate students for the teaching ministry. This is a 2-year full-time residential programme.
Total Credits Required: 64 credits
Admission Requirement: A basic degree from a recognized tertiary institution; or its equivalent.
vii) Master of Theological Studies: This programme is designed to equip and prepare graduate students for the full-time ministry. This is a 2-year full-time residential programme.
Total Credits Required: 64 credits
Admission Requirement: A basic degree from a recognized tertiary institution; or its equivalent.
viii) Master of Divinity: This programme is designed to equip and prepare students for the pastoral ministry. Upon successful completion of the programme, the students will be fielded in the various full-time ministries. This is a 3-year residential programme.
Total Credits Required: 96 credits
Admission Requirement: A basic degree from a recognized tertiary institution; or its equivalent. Candidates must demonstrate God’s calling into the pastoral ministry. Restricted to male candidates only.
Entry Level Consideration: An applicant who has obtained the O-levels or its equivalent qualification may apply for the Diploma in Theology programme. An applicant who has obtained the A-levels / Diploma may apply for the Bachelor of Theology programme. An applicant who has already a basic degree may apply for one of the specialized Masters programme.
Credit Exemptions: Students who have completed an academic programme offered in the college and choose to continue with another programme would be offered credit exemption of the core curriculum.
i) Bachelor Programme: An exemption of the core curriculum required for the Bachelor programme provided that the student had obtained at least a ‘B’ in that course in his / her Diploma programme. Additional supplementary reading / research may be necessary to qualify for exemption.
ii) Masters Programme: An exemption of the core curriculum required for the Masters programme provided that the student had obtained at least a ‘B’ in that course in his / her Bachelor programme or an “A” in his / her Diploma programme. Additional supplementary reading / research may be necessary to qualify for exemption.
Credit Transfers: Credits obtained at Emmanuel Reformed Bible Lectures (ERBL) would be equivalent to credits in the Diploma programme. Students can apply to have their credits obtained at ERBL to be transferred to ERBC as part of their Diploma programme.
