GRADING SYSTEM
Students will be graded with the following grading system:

Grading Requirement for completion of programme:
- Graduation: Students must have a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 2.00 / 2.33 (Bachelor/Masters) and have completed the required hours of practicum in order to graduate.
- Probation: Failure to maintain a GPA. of at least 2.00 / 2.33 (Bachelor/Masters) at any point during the student’s programme will place the student under probation for the following term. If the student is unable to attain the GPA of at least 2.00 / 2.33 (Bachelor/Masters) after the next term, his/her programme may be terminated.
- Semestral Reports: Students will receive a printed report of their Grade Points for the courses which they have enrolled at the end of each semester.
CREDITS EXEMPTION
When a core module which is part of the requirement of a student’s academic programme is offered during a particular semester, and the student has completed part of the requirement for that particular module, the student can apply for credit exemption for that module, provided:
- The student has completed that module under the certificate / diploma programmes and has moved up to the Bachelor programme; or
- The student has completed that module under the Bachelor programme and has moved up to the Masters programme.
The student can apply for credits exemption by filling up the Credits Exemption Form provided that these modules meet the following requirements:
- That module is part of the core curriculum of the student’s current academic programme;
- That module is offered in the current semester by the lecturer; and
- The grade previously obtained in the module must be “B” and above.
Approval will be at the sole discretion of the Faculty. Should approval be given, the student will be exempted from the requirement of module which he has previously completed (e.g. attending lectures, reading, quizzes and exams). However, he still need to fulfil all outstanding requirement of the module for his current academic programme (e.g. assignments, research). When duly completed to the satisfaction of the lecturer, an “EX” (Exemption) grade will be given. The “EX” grade carries no score and will not count towards the student’s Grade Points.
CREDITS TRANSFER
A student can apply for Credits Transfer when he changes from one academic programme to another in the course of study. Credits transfer may be offered to students who have completed core modules taught in the college under a different academic programme with the student having fulfilled the same requirement for the modules for the current programme:
- The student has completed a core module under a Master programme and has switched to another Master programme (e.g. from M.BS. to M.Div.); or
- The student has completed a core module in his Foundation Year and moves on to the main academic programme; or
- The student has completed a core module required under his current academic programme and having fulfilled all the requirement of the module under the current programme; and
- The grade obtained for that module is ‘B’ and above.
The student can apply for credits transfer by filling up the Credits Transfer Form. Approval will be at the sole discretion of the Faculty. Should approval be given, credits of these modules will be transferred to the student’s current academic programme. The grades awarded will count towards the Grade Points.
FUTURE CREDITS TRANSFER
Part-time students who intend to apply to go into the full-time programme may sign-up for the core modules and request to fulfil the requirement of their future academic programme (e.g. a part-time student may request to sign-up a core module and to do it at a Master-level as he intends to sign-up for the Master programme in the future). The student will need to fill up the Future Credits Form. Upon approval, the student will be assigned the requirements at the level which he has applied for. When the time comes where the student enrols for the full-time academic programme, he can apply for the credits transfer for these modules, subject to the policy governing the credits transfer (as in the segment above).
